Kate Bowers (Formerly Kate Fraga) - VTEAS president

- She Received a B.S. in Animal and Poultry Science
- She currently lives in Blacksburg, VA
- After graduation, Kate worked for the USDA for three years in Maryland as an Animal Health Technician with Veterinary Services. This past fall she moved back to Blacksburg and started Veterinary Medical School at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.
- Advice: "Enjoy this time while you can and after graduation don't loose touch with your friends. And of course, always come home for VTEAS receptions and horse shows!"
Leslie Betterton (formerly Leslie Wright)

- Graduated in 2003
- She Received a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies
- She currently lives in Blacksburg, VA
- Leslie works full time as a banquet manager at the Inn at VA Tech. In her spare time she rides horses and takes lessons with Dedee Swift and rides for Lynn Jendrowski.

Laura Cornett

Dr. Paula Davis

- Graduated in 2001
- She Received a B.S. in animal science, with a minor in biology
- She currently lives in Newtown CT
- After graduation she went to vet school at the University of Illinois. She graduated in 2005 with a DVM, and is currently an intern at Fairfield Equine in Newtown, CT. Her internship is primarily focused on lameness and sports medicine. Upon completion of her internship, she plans on pursuing an associate veterinarian position in an ambulatory practice in VIRGINIA. Anyone need a good vet????:-) She still rides when she can but hopes to have a nice amateur owner hunter in the near future.

Becca Dietz

Ashley Foster (formerly Ashley Duda)

- Graduated 2005
- She received a B.S. Biology and a minor in Political Science
- She currently lives in Manhattan, Kansas
- After graduating from Virginia Tech, Ashley was hired as an Assistant Coach for the Kansas State Equestrian Team and then became the Head Hunter Seat Coach in June 2007. The WILDCATS participate in both IHSA and Varsity Equestrian Competitions.
- Advice: "Enjoy college and enjoy riding on the VT Equestrian Team. More importantly, do not stress too much about what you will do after graduation. Work hard, study hard but also trust that things have a way of working themselves out."
Blakely Hunnings

- Graduated 2005
- She received a B.S. in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise.
- Since graduation, Blakely attended East Carolina University and received her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies.
- She currently lives in Raleigh, NC and works as a PA in the Emergency Department.
- Blakely recently got engaged and will be married in September 2008!
- Her horse is currently living with her parents in Blacksburg, but she still trys to ride every chance that she gets.
Kristen Keller
- Graduated in 2003
- She Received a Bachelors in Animal and Poultry Science and Biology
- Kristen currently lives in Raleigh, NC
- Since graduation, Kristen enrolled in the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, in the Class of 2007.
David Kennedy
Beth Klein (formerly Beth Connolly)

- Graduated in 2005
- She Received a major in English and a minor in Equine Science
- Beth currently lives in Easton, MD
Since graduation, Beth has married, had a full-time job training 3 year old ex race horses, but quit it so she could focus more on Collegetack, her online bisiness (Collegetack was featured in the first issue of the VTEAS newsletter).
- She is still training 2 horses for fun and a little money! She also has acquired her own (first) horse, the successful ex-racehorse Sunny Sunrise.
- Beth spends most days working on Collegetack and getting Sunny ready to event!
- Advice: "Please! Please! Appreciate all of T's hard work and learn as much as you can from her! She's an amazing teacher, so take advantage of her while you can!!!"
