About the Equestrian Club

The Equestrian Club of Virginia Tech is a recognized club in the Virginia Tech Sports Club Federation. It is composed of undergraduate students who have an interest in horses.

The purpose of the club is to:

Other activities the Equestrian Club participates in include guest speakers, trips to the Virginia Horse Center, trips to other shows, and fund raising events such as open horse shows held on campus.

How to join the club:

It's very simple, just follow these two steps:
  1. Come to the first meeting, held at the beginning of each semester
  2. Pay the dues ($25 per semester, or $40 per year)
    1. Dues are to be paid in McComas Hall, by the 2nd meeting of the semester

Point Requirements:

Team Members: 1 Social, 1 Service, 2 Fundraising, and 2 Barn Points

Club Members: 2 Social, 2 Service, 1 Fundraising, and 1 Barn Point

Anyone willing to run an event, social, service, or fundraiser, will receive both of their service points. Contact Bailey Smith at bsmith88@vt.edu or the appropriate chair for more information.

SERVICE:

DONATIONS:

Please contact Lauren Harris at laurennh@vt.edu for more information on making a donation to the Equestrian Club! On the Wish List page there is a selection of items that are presently needed at the barn for our wonderful horses! Donations are greatly appreciated!

- Any private donation to the club worth $25 is worth one service point, and a donation of $50 or more is worth 2 fundraising points. A donation letter with our tax exemption number will be sent out through the listserve.

NOT RECEIVING YOUR POINTS WILL RESULT IN -

1.) An inactive status in the club which may only be reinstated with at $50 fine.

2.) Not being able to show next semester at the first show.

If you haven't received your point for attending an event, please e-mail the person that ran that event to make sure your name was turned in.
