The Equitation Program at Virginia Tech is fortunate to have a variety of well-bred, well-schooled horses. Generally, these horses have been received as donations and are often schoolmasters or experienced show horses. We currently have about 30 horses which includes Warmbloods, Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses, and Crosses. The horses range in ability from horses we entrust our absolute beginner riders to, to show horses that compete successfully in open shows at the Virginia Horse Center and in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association shows. We are very thankful to these horses as they allow us to practice and constantly improve our equitation. We are fortunate to have an AMAZING group of horses who are not only talented but also a joy to be around!
